Rugby League popularity dives as country footy soars.

So in a week that has the rugby league world on notice that they are struggling to compete with netball in the battle for hearts and minds, I am being dragged off to Brisbane to sit through the first State of Origin game for the year. I am keeping an open mind to this and going to try and embrace the spectacle and atmosphere of the whole thing, but remain sceptical. I fell asleep last time I tried to watch a game so unless an elbow in the ribs from Luke keeps me awake I could use the time to catch up on some well earned rest.

In the meantime, check out this hanger from the weekends footy

Another great round of footy and the expansion teams just keep on getting better. Bring on the Eagles at the Cattery on Saturday and hopefully a top of the table clash against the poos and wees the week after. Exciting to be in Vic at the start of the season and catch a bit of action. Go Cats!

Quiet on the NRL front

It seems as though the year so far is being absolutely dominated by the national indigenous game. Our friends over at NRL land are struggling and no-one has tuned in Crowd Numbers down. This bodes poorly for the northern game but never fear, after a round like that of AFL where crowds were good and games were great, things are on the up and up. How good was the Showdown at the Adelaide Oval? Great stuff and good luck taking on Power at home this year. This week, check out this classic hanger!!
